The Nestorian Throne

Technically one of the Artefacts of the Second Forging

Description

A somewhat rudimentary throne crafted from a jet black stone that seems to drink the light around it. The Throne is high backed, sitting well over the height of a man when they sit upon it, with the sigil of the Nestorian Empire glowing above their head. The sigil of the Empire drifts between the colours Red and Purple, some say the colour dictates the danger the emperor is currently in, others say it is random, or follows the ebb and flow of the magic of the world around it. The Sigil appears to be formed of some form of liquid, and is cool to the touch.

The Throne sits in the Great Hall of Nestor, on a dais of similar block stone, sitting the Emperor above the heads of petitioners.

Background / History

The Throne was forged by Morrowdorn, Striker, Malkatar III & Blacktooth, during the final moments of the events surrounding the re-forging of the Vord Blade. It is heavily Invested and Warded, with Blacktooth having dragged a number of natural spirits of the lands into it's construction, and Morrowdorn to have linked a micro shard of Sinfold Daladine into the construction of the seat, while Striker inlaid it with his particular brand of Evocative magicks into it.

It is said to be one of Strikers last acts to enchant the throne, before he turned to take on the Rage-Hippo of Chaos, along with Old Man Tom, and the Dread Druid, Maltak the Mossy (taking two of the three with him as he died).

The Warren

The Warren attached to the throne is a sliver of the sundered darkness realm, which Morrowdorn gifted to Karandar, knowing that the sitting emperor would always need to be secure in their own strength while commanding the empire, well after either of them had fallen.

The Warren was intended initially to be a private pocket Warren of the Emperor, as it was barely larger than a large room at the time of crafting, however as Belief in the Empire has increased, so to has the size of the warren, where it has now grown to the size of a small city. The Emperor has found that he can grant access to weild the warren, however those mages need to be within range of the throne, and, barring Tolarion, this gift is not one that any of the emperor's has been willing to grant to anyone.

When the Emperor's holding the Throne die, their spirit passes into the sliver of Sinfold Daladine, not to Sorrow's gate.

Abilities

The Throne requires attunement. If you are not attuned to the Throne, it is just a fancy chair.

Attunement can only be gained via the ritual of the Lord Council of Nestor, titles which themselves require rituals to be gained, and the Ritual of the Emperor can only be performed once the Throne has been willingly given up by the previous occupant.
